High School Reunion Part ll

After the last few weeks I have been getting very excited about our high school reunion with my classmates. Although it was an informal reunion again as usual about 16 of my classmates were present on the reunion gathering namely Boyong, Erla, Rochelle, Mary Rose, Armidelle, Jocelyn, Nanette, Vergencita, Berlie, Maricel, Cleo, Rito, Jamel, Amiel, Deckie and of course me.

I was tasked to contact all of my classmates but only a few of them responded those who lived in the city only, not all were informed because most of my classmates lived out of town. When we’ve talked with my classmates abroad, we set the date over the weekend of 12th and 13th of june. When we all met, the excitement between all of us was like young children waiting for christmas. We had so much to tell each other what we all been up to. Some of them were working abroad. What surprised me most was how some of us had changed in the way they looked in such a long period of time. Most of my classmates have got themselves married with one or two babies of their own.

The first day of our reunion was a sumptuous dinner at Kusina Selera, a filipino restaurant owned by one of our classmate’s relative. Everyone seemed to enjoy the party, we got to have a chance to talk to my classmates abroad like Audrey, Arlene and Glory Fe. Even if they aren’t here with us however we’re happy and able to chat and see them on web cam. After dinner, we headed to the world palace, a videoke singing karaoke to have some refreshments. All in all we had a wonderful time on the first day spending quality time with my classmates and we’re looking forward to the second day where we were all going to the beach.

This brings back happy days when at weekends, when we finish school we packed our things and set off for a day swimming on the beach. This time not all of my classmates were there only about 10 of us who went to Paradise Beach Resorts as some were busy with their family gatherings since it’s sunday the following day. My classmates who were present on the beach gatherings were Erla, Jocelyn, Mary Rose, Vergencita, Berlie and her husband, our teacher Sir Selehencia, Armidelle, Erla’s niece Wena and I. We’re able to chat to my classmates abroad again since I brought my laptop in the beach and I was thankful they have internet connection there.

We spent a good part of the evening in the beach just talking laughing and drinking some beers. And on the following early morning we had a swim in the beach. We were all having a wonderful time and it was so sad that the day or even the weekend had come to an end. So we all said our goodbyes with one or two of us had a tear in our eyes. We said it would be great if we could have another reunion sooner and not leave it so long next time. The sad part of saying goodbyes was that there might be some of us who might not see each other again but with hope we will. It was really nice looking around and see all of my classmates enjoying the reunion.

To Boyong, Erla and Mary Rose, I’d like to say thank you for spending time and making this reunion possible. We can’t thank them enough but we hope to return the favor in time. We wouldn’t have gotten to see each other after a long time. To Sir Selehencia, thank you for coming to our reunion and to my classmates who were present on the event, thank you and God bless us all.
